All over North Carolina town officials are f « V i i o, measures to conserve dwindling water supplies in order for everyone to have enough for cooking and bathing. Tryon town officials have already requested closing of swimming pools and as no rain is in sight, a further re quest that all waste of water be stopped, have dripping hydrants and commodes fixed, stop washing cars, watering flower beds, etc. GOSPEL SINGING AT TRYON BAPTIST CHURCH The Eppley Sisters Gospel Quin tette of York, Pa., will appear at the First Baptist Church in Tryon on Wednesday, July 30th, at 8 p.m. The five sisters render a spiritu al program featuring vocal quin tettes, soprano and alto solos, ar tistic piano-playing and numbers on the following instruments: vibra-harp, violi, electric Hawaiian guitar, saxophone, accordions and cathedral chimes. The musical program is unique and different and has been rated as one of the best programs of its kind in the country. They have appeared in churches of 38 differ ent denominations the past seven years. Their recent concert tours have included leading churches and radio stations in United States and Canada. Churches have been crowded to capacity and many turned away. Some of the girls are graduates of Wheaton College, Wheaton, 111., others, of the Dunmire School of Music. Harrisburg, Pa., and at present, all are special vocaJ students of Messiah Bible College, Grantham, Pa. The public is invited. PRESBYTERIAN PICNIC WEDNESDAY EVENING The annifal Sunday school picnic of the Tryon Presbyterian Church will be held Wednesday afternoon beginning at 4:30 at Camp Bear walla, the Presbytery Camp, north of Saluda. After swimming and games, supper will be served at 7:30. Anyone desiring transporta tion is asked to call 152-J, and a way will be provided.
